Storage of Escorts via carport container

We have had a couple of threads on storage lately and how much people pay etc, if you have the room at home or a place to put one for free.

This does not seem a bad solution

6 metre car port £1900 +vat if you pay £50 a month storage in two years your halfway their and the container is always worth a grand secondhand.

Thats a very good point Vinny. I have a container which I use purely for secure storage and when it's warmish through the day and cold at night (winter time) condensation just drips from the roof.

A open car port is a much better solution but it lacks security, I guess the ideal solution would be a container with a carcoon inside!

I'm just on with putting a car port on the side of my container... At least it'll keep the rain off!

the only way to combat condensation is double skin it or fit an extractor fan with vent low down for good airflow, if you get good airflow the condensation does not have time to settle, some peeps make that mistake with the carcoon, they leave the flap closed at the rear when it should be open for the max airflow over the car

Does Carcoon not tell you to leave flap open for initial 24 hours then close it as it recycles air via filters to remove moisture ?

I kept my flap shut and never suffered any condensation.

Lots of metal is an issue i agree

condensation as well, but some good points raised on that to get around it, I thought about the car bubble in side it, but if a fan extractor does the same job, much cheaper job to fit a fan.

i.ve always left it open for greater flow, i suppose it depends how damp the garage is, my hanger at work gets very damp in the winter so i leave it open for continuous flow, if you have a warm dry garage then damp will not be an issue, i also use a small (£30 argos) de-humidifier inside the car during the winter, but when it gets really cold it does freeze, but deffo airflow is the key
