think i've ****ed my back
went to pick my littleun up this after noon and suddenly my back went into spasm, went straight down on my knees and couldnt stand for 10 mins, when i tried i had a terrible lower back pain.
Have tried frozen pees on it, hot bath and deep heat, still in loads of pain and cant stand straight and am walking like a crab - worried about doing my job and gonna ring the docs 1st thing.
Any body go any cures for a bad back, even in pain sitting here typing this :(

Vinny....

I had a bad back about 5 yrs ago.....slept on bedroom floor, could not put socks on etc etc etc

Spent hundreds on Chiropractor over a few months, with temporoary relief.

Was about to lose my job.

Last chance, someone introduced me to the best £50 quid I ever spent....Bioflow magnetic bracelet. Worked within 3 days, never had a bad back since. http://www.ecoflow.com/Start

No good for you by tomorrow though, but worth a look at.....:wav:

I did tell Paul Spence, but apparently he needed a back-transplant

Seriously, money well spent and if no joy within 3 months, money refunded less 15 %

VInny, I feel for ya mate. I have arthritis and now going through serious mid back pain due to a work injury. Find a good Physio(mine is a life saver) get some anti inflammatories and pain killers. I'm just coming good after 2 months of pain, couldn't even drive the RS2! Now that's bad! It will take time to heal, but if you are lucky it might come good soon. I hope you have some sick leave due..
Good luck.

had a few bad spells with me back, best thing is sport I found. Tae Kwon Do did wonders for me. Now I play footie helps keep everything moving.
Can be bloody murder, you don't realise how lucky you are without back pain until you're struck down with it.
Get well soon :thumbright:

P.S. keep out of draughts too, doesn't help at all (before or after):(

I did the same thing last year, picked the little girl up to put her in the car chair, it took me to the floor!

it went away after a few days, I remember phoning frosty up when I couldnt move for back advice  :D

pretty sure it was a trapped nerve as discussed above

ouch !

back pain is a painfull affair, had some slipped discs myself and it does trouble me a few times a year, i only have to make a quick turn or overstretch and its with me again for a few days.

Antiinflamatories and painkillers help,

good luck Vin,

I know exactly what your on about and can sympathise with your pain.
I have suffered bad backs for years, caused by having probably one of the worst profession's to cause one. Bricklayer,
plus a motorcycle accident a few years ago smashing my hip against a barrier and whiplashing my spine added fuel to it.
I have tried everything, physio, chiropractors, pain killers etc.
I had a really bad bout a few years back, just reaching up to put a plaster bead on the wall, and I dropped like a sack of sh*t. The best pain killer I ever had from the docs was diazepan, 3 days in bed and I was up and about working again, which would have normally took weeks.
Working as a brickie always makes my back howl like a dog, but, after about 6 months of trying a recommendation from Aled, of which I forked out the £50 for an ecoflow wristband. I can recommend them no end. It wont stop you pulling your back for obvious reasons, but if anyone is in constant everyday dull ache back pain, I recommend them 100%.
It has taken away a pain that I have had to put up with everyday for a long number of years

Co-proxomol was good till they banned it cos people kept topping emselves with it  co-codomol aint as good i prefer a big spliff when it's bad :D
TBH after a few years the nerves die off (get overloaded a bit like a wire running to much current) so the pain eases but your left falling over due to numbness and not knowing where yer legs are, which if nothing amuses people when i get out the car and fall flat on me face :o
My cortina is the only car i can drive for more than an hour, i even have a cortina seat as me PC chair for comfort but then i mini cabbed in a cortina for 7 years and i think me body adapted to it's shape
look after your backs peeps!
mind it sounds like i'm too late on this forum you all sound ****ed

keep slipping my discs like spence.a mri scan shows i need an operation i can put my discs back in myself now but when i dislodge them it traps the nerve which is unbearable pain as for any pain killers they only rot your liver so you cant really win but everybodys back is different my best cure is just to work it off:eek: ;)

Back to work tomorrow after 4 weeks off
a bit apprehensive to be honest, especially the 1st time i have to get the trolley jack out  - still gonna have to suck it and see.
On a 7-7 tomorrow and 10-10 tuesday then got wed/thurs off so will be getting into it gently.
To be honest when i went to see the physio on thurs she would have signed me off for longer as i still dont feel 100 % right.
No more staying up till 2 playing call of duty 4 online and having a nap in the afternoons but the boardoom is starting to get to me know and i have hardly touched the mk1 in that time(well a few little jobs ;) ) but aim to press on with her in time for avo weekend

1. Try hanging off something in a relaxed dead weight type of way to open thing out, just incase you have trapped something.
2. If it is a lumbar spasm that is caused when an idle muscle gets put to use with no warning, so instead of stretching it just thinks its going to tear so it locks up,gentle manipulation and either vitamin b6 or 12 cant remember which, its supposed to keep muscles supple.

Hmm backs.. wonderful things aint they ..

I have a displaced L5, been backwards and forwards to the specialists for years, untill i give up work they wont fuse the spine, and as i can still place my palms on the floor they didnt belive it at first, so around 3 years ago they sent me for an MRI .. walks in, wheelchair out, why the wheelchair, i asked " you have a bad back " ... ermm havn't i been telling you that .. had the pulling the pushing , the stretching the bending .. the lot, but they wont operate untill i'm on the sick for months, lose the business etc etc.

Anyway enough griping about me.. if its a muscle thats spasmed then get yourself drunk, and i mean really drunk, that drunk you dont know what your doing, cant remember anything in the morning ... you love everyone in the world drunk. When you finally flake out your whole body relaxes .. and so does the spasmed muscle.
