I'll take you up on that :)
It's the spacer that fits between the gear lever and gearbox on a 4 speed RS2000 or Mexico Mk2 gearbox, the shiney silver bit spaces the rubber insulator up the lever itself.

If it's for your Mk1 rebuild, you need to screw it into the box and then screw your lever into it :D

The one for a 5 speed is sort of triangular shape & usually made from plastic & has three holes in it to bolt it down.
This is a spacer block for a 4 speed box. It screws into the gearstick thread.
The silver bit sits under the ball on the gearstick altering the pivot point of the gearstick giving you a quick shift stick.

not quite son;)
Quickshift for the Mk I Escort (dog bone grille) bought it from England (receipt is included), has never been fitted. Fitting instructions are in with the parts. As I no longer own such a car another Mk I driver should have some fun with this kit.

that's useful. Can you tell them that the translation for gear lever is gear lever and not AGILITY CONTROL? Seems that MB's don't have suspension steering and gears anymore, they have AGILITY CONTROL modules.

Yes, well if you had seen the style guides you might feel sorry for me:(
That, by the way is the least of the linguistic problems, now and again I try writing an English sentence, it gets corrected by MB and I change it back.
They change their minds week-in week-out, things like THERMATIC or Thermatic, AIRSCARF or Airscarf.
BTW gear lever is in Benz speak gearshift lever or gear selection lever

Yukspeak gone mad!
Yukspeak gone German!
The sentences are hilarious at times, a verb repeated three times in a ten word sentence. This is an absolute deadly sin in the German language, is sounds pretty bloody awful in English too:o
