hopefully it just looks worse than it is,
keep your chin up,
cheeRS
it is insured as being restored so i'm not too sure how i'd go about claiming for a mate driving around and not using my van as a brake???
he has said he'll pay for any repairs so i may just leave it at that

i'm no expert but i think it looks worse that it actually is , your vid you sent me did not work, try sending it again ;)
it's an MP4, i had to download player to get it going
so sorry its happened - but i was fearing a lot worse ............. bet you make it to the tour ;)
Gutted for you.
Wings and nose should repair up nicely looks like its split on the join, my kit has had a lot worse repaired and you could never tell :)
spoke today, going through insurance, spoiler pushed back & up causing wings to fold upwards and back, arches are bowed out about 2" either side with 1" opening at the A post base. bumper has damage to indicator mountings but chassis brackets are fine, i think it all went through the spoiler to the winds so under the skin is ok.
gotta call insurance tomorrow and get inspected the see.

has your body fella said if its an easy fix or not??
over phone he thinks it's more labor than parts, pain to rip kit off the fix cracks and re-fit. simple....
he's gotta do some touch up work on her after putting her together anyway so a little easier for me. just have to paint a little more than expected.
he reckons the nose will POP back out as kit is holding it back and simply repair cracked fiberglass & re-fit & paint

so sorry to here about the accident mate,i hope it all repairs well and it makes the tour.:(
should be ok. should be a nice shakedown run up there
After chasing up the insurance company, they are not impressed with the quote as it's £3,250.00,
In their oppinion it's beyond econimic repair!!!
they are now dispatching an independant enginer to estimate the cars value?
where do i stand for an argumment anybody?
Dave1800BDA

lead them here, tell them to look at the prices for bits eg the nosecone on the bay etc, then the rarity of the car itself and so on
Gutted for you fella, hope it all pans out before the tour :(
After numerouse calls to independant engineer they have agreed to allow repairs to start.
Autherisation was given to the garage on 20th... nobody bloody told me.
as we speak she is being undressed to allow repairs to start (Photo's to follow)
should be about two weeks work then i get her back and i can finish electrics
so i may still get to Cumbria?
glad to hear that repairs have started, bet your relieved about that
good news - keep us informed :)

Just left garage, still nothing done!!!
their awating resin & matting for the arches to be repaired.
now looks like she's going to have a complete re-spray as well, they're only down for front wings & nose & blow in doors.
this may take a little time and will be tight for May

CheeRS.............Ken
well ....... is it back ?
Alas no.
After another call they are now blending in the doors, painting the black at the front (bumper/grill), repairing the door they damaged!!!, puting some metal work on under spoiler, and finaly gotta give it a clean...
contacted insrance co. about conserns with colour and they said get car back and see after a few days (different light) as the repairs are guarenteed for 3 yrs.
it should now be delivered tomorrow and the camera is ready...watch this space
It's ready for delivery.....
unfortunatley they can't get it on the loader... it's too wet
can't winch it on as it's too low and it'll pull the spoiler off
now gotta wait for clear skyes:mad:
have you seen it tho ? happy ??
not since weekend, have been assured it's ok.
spoken to insurance company about colour conserns and advisead all repairs are covered for three years.
being delivered to house so i can see it under street light and in good daylight to pick any problems, if it's not right it's still going to cumbria and sort it out after.
So, if it's not raining tomorrow i MAY get my car back...:violent1:
cool
hope this helps
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/
sorry to see the car bet you are well gutted keep your head up it can be mended
More delays...
now they're not willing to try to put the car onto the smaller transporter as it's too tight.
the bigger transporter is in for new brakes and should be back some time Monday, then it's on a list with others to "get out",
"Is there any reason you cant come and collect it"!!!!!!
AAAAhhhhhhhhhh

Ken
Cars been left at local rolling road to be set up, 1-2 days!!!!
left on monday and they're still playing with it.
carb seals to manifold were leaking on two so new set fitted.
timing way out so retarded 20deg
fuel pressure way out and spilling fuel out of 1st carb,
still over fueling so now playing with jets, causing plugs to foul and start missin.
should be ready to get 1st power run for monday:wav:
jeeps thats gonna cost, and for god's sake get the right torque figure:rolleyes::snipersmilie:

hoping to get on rollers later today, maybe tomorrow
still running std dissy at mo so any recomendations on whats a good performance/budget replacment?
