rpx's tidy up

Having now got the rs2 into my own garage i have had a good look over it and have decided to clean and tidy as much as possible but without it losing its originality, the car has been painted in it life but under bonnet and in boot is original, i decided to leave as much ziebart on it as i can as.
The only things that i will be changing is num plates, wheels, the under bonnet wiring needs a bit of attention and so also the carbs need setting up.
Heres a few pics as is and will keep adding as i start to clean things up - have already started under the bonnet and am very pleased with results (no pics of this yet)
It would appear that the car hasnt been cleaned inside for years even though the previous owner had it for a year since being stored in 84.
The thing i like about is is its was a non custom so no wood etc and even the rear parcel shelf hasnt been removed and still has the plastic buttons on the two screws.

have given the tops of the inner wings and bulkhead a clean with panel wipe and a quick polish.

well had a few solid days on her and shes looking lovely, got the stripes and new wheels on, interior sort of cleaned and another front qtr bumper and back bumper.
Got the carbs back on and had her running after my neighbour did some tinking about and she sounded sweet, just gotta get the timing spot on and the temp sender in the rad and the fit isnt that good and decided to pop out :eek: and need a another battery as the one fitted is far to wide for it.

well failed the mot on friday, needs a bit of welding on the floor and the front brakes effiency is v-low, dunno if the piston are sticking due to only having done 173 since last mot.
Mind you she drove a lot better on the 8 mile trip to the mot station now theres no air leak and the 45's sounded lovely :D
Gonna get her sorted on monday and hopefully mot'd asap then enjoy her

the exhaust has rubbed on the handbrake bar,1 of the only parts that hadnt come off,hopin to get 1 2mora at the agm

i made up a little bracket to hold the fan stat in. bolted it to the top rad bolt then cut a small slot to go over the sensor . small l shaped bracket. then a bit later i brazed the hole up!put the fan on a switch inside the car.
