View Full Version : Vista
Bought the missus a laptop for Christmas.
Its got vista home premium on it, why does it open things you leave your pointer on too long? VERY annoying opening things you don't want, can it be stopped?.
Also other annoying things, "are you sure you want to do this/that" VERY annoying.
Anyone with experience with vista, to turning off these annoying things would be much appreciated.
I'm sticking to xp corp http://www.diynot.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I got to install some stuff on it, and I have to walk away now and again to cool off :o

My m8 is a PC Engineer. Says if you have a suitable PC system that can run Vista then it's the business. The bugs allegedly are fixable.

In what way?....sell it to me..... :)
Running Vista and loving it. My photos were a complete mess on XP and vista has automatically sorted everything into year and month. Hibernate is an excellent alternative to shutdown and it runs a dream with firefox were I can channge fontsize using ctrl+ if I see something worth reading :)
No crashes, haven't seen a popup in years, happy bunny.

To turn off the "are you sure", go to user accounts, its in there
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/useraccountcontrol.mspx
Vista was designed to run with a min of 2GB of RAM. Anything less than this and you will find it painfully slow. Hope this helps
For everybody else with vista , have a look at this ...................
