On my way, just not sure how many beers it will cost me Jimmer  :occasion5:
Come round also got RS2 MK1 alloys 5.5 inch refurbished. The switches are new genuine Ford boxed also got the chrome bezels to refurb the switches.Money not too important as long as there fitted to a cocours car, would be wasted on a daily runner.

Well I got her running.
Few jobs for the MOT tomorrow. Indicator earth needing looking at.
Drove her down the road, one wheel bearing sounds like it need looking at and the tracking is out.
Pleased with the ride height.
The kenlowe worked which was always a worry.
Slight water leak on the radiator which is annoying as I had the radiator refurbished. Quick trip to Halfords for a radiator leak fixing fluid.
Here is some photo's.

All was well, so I decided to put the car in the garage and check out the wheel bearings.
Started her up and I could not believe what happened next:
The car was on fire with flames coming out of the bonnet.
I rushed to get water and after a long minute the fire was out.
The damage is light and I hope the paint work will clear up.
The Airbox is knackered as are the plug leads, fuel lines and heater sender wiring.
I AM GUTTED.
Dried the car off and pushed it into the garage.
Can not look at it.

Thanks for your comments.
I have too admit when I saw the bright Orange flames coming up from both sides and the front of the bonnet I s**t myself.
Blind panic for a second (which felt like a lifetime) then ran in the house and filled up an empty 5 litre tin I had for dog food and rushed back. The flames were getting pretty big but after 4 super sonic trips to the tap she was out:eek:
It looks like the petrol pipe had started weeping. Couldn't work out the ignition source on that side of the engine until someone mentioned that petrol onto the distributor can be common on pinto's;)
The only thing is the paint work, mainly smoke damage will try and clean it all off tonight.
Many thanks Darren.

The MOT tester was a big Escort fan and rallied a MK1 and MK2, showed me all his photo's.
The car passed first time:cool:
He seemed to be so impressed he forgot one of the main beam was not working and the handbrake needed adjusting;)
Well chuffed, give her a bit of throttle on the way back

FINISHED AT LAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The oil leak on the rocker cover is sorted and I taxed the car for the first time in 8 years today.
Done a good 50 miles and the car never put a foot wrong.
Well chuffed.
Took some pics as well:
