I ran one of those for 12 months or so!...was comfy and pretty quick!!

Bought it off a mate..and later discovered it had filler where the chassis number should have been...LOL

Still...it got me around for a while!!

orrible colour

Onions good little reliable cars, bloody Lucas ABS mind you, better off with STD brakes

Don't take it out in the rain mind, it'll dissolve:rolleyes: Turbo MkII style, the MkIV Escort makes the MkII look like a Volvo when it comes down to rusting, I had a 16 Ghia Escort MkIV, more holes than car :p

must admit have a soft spot for the earlier model than the one you bought dont see them at all even rare to see this model still on the road mind you taking into account what you said about the gearbox bolted to the side of the engine apparently they were built by pixies and fairies in the enchanted forest and they only work as long as it dont rain as the body is made out of salt

ummmmmmmm.............................that's probably why you don't see them about anymore they rusted away faster than you could change the cambelts, or was that stem seals:p:p:p

No, like the MkIV look and interior is miles better, just the two earlier ones S1 Turbo and RS16i are better. Caspian blue was the best colour or maybe Strato, black just didn't have the right effect with the bottom half undersealed :p

Nice cheap little runners, just cursed with that bloody CVH toilet and gearboxes that kept chucking 5th gears or diffs
