I have just got back from a 400 mile round trip to look at a mexico that was described as "ready to show"
all i can say if you are interested in a daytona mex in peterborough then dont go expecting it wll be as described - and we didnt even get offered a cup of tea did we dave.

vin, how much was it up for?? i know the price is no indicator, but if it was ready to show, for £1500 i would have been a bit suss, a "show" car wont give you much change out of £4-£6k+ would it??

HI VINNY I HAD SAME EXPERIENCE YESTERDAY, WENT TO NOTTINGHAM TO SEE THAT WHITE BIGWING OF E-BAY THAT BIG DAVE USED TO OWN.
WELL THE GUY SHOULD BE DONE UNDER TRADE DESCRIPTIONS ACT,MY FRIEND WHO HAD WON THE AUCTION HAD THE MONEY ALL IN CASH THINKING HE WAS GOING TO BRING HOME A MINT CAR.
HE TOLD THE GUY STRAIGHT IT WAS CERTAINLY NOT AS HE HAD ADVERTISED IT AND WE DROVE THE 4 HOURS HOME.
YOU AFTER ANOTHER CAR THEN VINNY I THOUGHT YOU HAD ONLY JUST BOUGHT THE BROWN ONE BACK?

Vinny,

Next time you go to see a car take Dave 1800BDA with you. When he went with me we got tea,and a bed for the night, he truly knows how to get on the good side of these sellers.

Cheers Garth :cat:

I looked at 7-8 in a few days that were supposed to be very good/execellent but most were incomplete junkers

what people seem to think is good is usually crap

I reckon folk think if it's 25 years old and still in one piece it must be a goodun.

Wrong.

Garth,
This seller, If we had got a cup of tea, I should imagine that we would have been charged!!! a bit like the Scotish curry night we experianced. eh Mr Burns

I fully concur Dave with your statement, i remember well our curry night and the fact i wasn't sure we would get back home as i was nearly out of cash. Mr Burns was generous but didn't go overbored! I think the car sold itself.

Cheers Garth. :cat:
