Think all RS/AVO Class one cars are under valued.

Certainly does here in UK because of

Thieving Scum Bags

When a MKII goes missing a prior agreed valuation allows the ex-owner to hopefully be paid out by their insurance company

This "pay-out" should be sufficient to replace a missing car

Unrealistic price guides allow insurance firms to under pay claims

My arguement is - try to buy a car for the values they are promoting !

Well the that's a surely a matter to be taken up with insurance companies not the SEOC, who's primary purpose in life is for people that the RSOC don't consider worthy of a full membership and they "mop up" people that don't want to join or are disaffected by other Escort owners clubs.

Anyway you can agree when taking out the policy how much you want to insure the car for and produce the contract with the seller for the amount paid, so it's not like one is helpless, whether or not the insurance pays out in full is of course another matter

my mk1 van is still there I see :D ....them prices seem about right but £2k for a class 3   ....although they are commanding big money....

mk2 sport/ ghia's at £4k & the mexico's only slighly valued higher and you can get a class 3 rs2k for nearly the same price as a class 1 mexico  :winka:

No need to get so emotional about it, if the SEOC are just publishing the valuations of the insurance companies it's hardly their fault is it:confused:

The differential between the Mex and the RSII is obviously wrong, but I wouldn't pay 10K for a Mex despite some people's thought's on this matter, for one thing as we've seen recently there's a lot of cars that have surfaced recently that have more than just a whiff of having been "log booked" which is far easier to do to a Mex than an RSII so the risk of catching a cold is higher when contemplating a Mex. This being just one facet of the argument of the reasons why traditionally RSII's were always "a bit more" expensive, but indeed there never was this sort of differential.

Car is only worth what someone is willing to pay to own it, or indeed what someone would accept in order to sell??

I wish I could get my Mk1 valued, been trying for years now but nobody will do it for me??

the only one really awry is the mk2 mex and RS2, all the others seem more reasonable

Nice one matey! Did I get your new number from you?

I have been trying to get hold of Rob since last national day but he never returns my calls or emails? I need to get a valuation done for insurance as I could end up being stung if I bend it this year.

I plan to use the Mk1 a lot mor ethis year and so need to be sure my arse is covered (yes it will take some covering).

Offshore just now so PM with details and I will speak from there.

a harrier (sport) and a van:eek: worth more than a mexico bollox:mad: thats why they are $h1t club yes as is said a mex has historicly been worth less but never worth have on a RS 2 no way , and therefore 4.5k for a harrier is about right not sure on a van thou seems rose tinted glasses were on , i bet they spoke to john hughes as he is a member of the S.E.O.C. when he had a concourse red 16 sport he would of told them that mex's are worth nowt ;)

the tables need turning i would like them to try and replace a mex for someone who's just had one wrote off and i bet they couldnt

Not sure how many Mexicos are left out there ( I asked but got no answer) but am pretty sure they are much more rare than a RS2. So in my eyes that makes them more vluable due the rarity does it no?

has anyone got the figures to hand?
