I've just had a set of Mk1 wheels come back from Spit & Polish (these are for the GOON)

They look the business - highly recommend their quality and service.

Free collection and delivery, matched the sample colour exactly, helpful and pleasant driver - all around good service.

Pictures to follow later :)

I'm live between Spit & polish and Lepsons.

Always went to Lepsons because there finish was better, but it look like the wind of change are upon us now, hear nothing but good things about S&P now.

Better than Lepsoms?

The finish on the alloy part of the wheel is better than the most recent ones I've had done at Lepsons.

The price is better too ;)

I paid a trade price of £36+ vat a wheel :thumbright:

Better than Lepsons?

ive said this before i know, but mine were done at lepsons, and their finish to the bare metal, not unlike an old LP. but spit & swallow leave the metal much smoother, which i think is much nicer, once i've landed myself some 6" GP1 wheels, they'll be going there :D

surely thats not right , did they prep them i think not , that looks like the've painted over the knackared paintwork

Mr Hoarder
12-04-2007, 18:15
It's known as micro blistering, it's where the paint hasn't adhered to the substrate, and is effectively 'floating', if you ran a fingernail over that area it would possibly flake off

3 of mine are going back and 1 from the other set.
Being picked up sorted and sent back, the guys words were
"ill kick some ass and get it sorted no quibbling"

But yes happy.
The dove grey is a little light
might not suit the concours boys.

Thats bad wiggy :( Were they badly corroded/pitted in that area before or is that pitting from the blasting. Had 4 group 1 alloys done by Lepsons for a customer but his spare was a steel rim, All came back really well done but the steely was absolutely mint:eek: The finish was unreal !! It was a shame to hide it in the boot:p
