I know that shell very well!!! yes it is Daves old shell it was donated to a rally school in Leicester but they obviously didnt want it.
The shell was not repairable as the chassis rails were bent beyond 'safe' repair plus the rear end shunt had pushed up the boot floor and rear rail as well.
Amazing what 56mph can do straight into a dry stone wall!

E-bay first i expect for a silly price
that would make a nice water feature in my garden :eek: , somewhere to sit in the summer , fit a barby in the boot :D
Now that's one I havn't seen for a while...a Mk.1 cage in a Mk.2, and those doorbars are a really...unique!!

Those door bars aren't 'legal' are they ?
I'm certain there shouldn't be a welded joint like that in a roll cage tube - even if it's not in the 'prime' cage ???????

The car went through club and international scrutineering with no probs, the reason for the cage maybe was the car was exported to south africa for rallying (as a 1972 MK1) and arrived back in this current shell!!!! was then given an age related plate., obviously the DVLA weren't as particular then Lol!!
