I spent 5 hours in hospital on Thusday night/Friday morning having a shard of rusty metal removed from my left eye :(

OUCH :( :( :(

I can still see out of it - thank God :)

Yep.

I was doing some MOT repairs on a Transit.

The hospital visits (yes two visits, one to A&E and another to the eye clinic)stopped me doing what I like doing best - looking at Mk2 Escorts for sale

i can sypathise bob, once i unknowingly slept with a piece of metal in my eye, woke up in agony, went to A+E to have it removed, had to go back five days later to have the rust removed, that had grown onto my eye, i had to soften it with some gooey gel stuff four times a day, luckily the white bit and not the seeie bit

I was wearing a face shield and my normal eye glasses.

I too went to sleep with it in my eye, for 3 consecutive nights !! The welding job was on Monday, I went to hospital at midnight on Thursday after looking at my eye in the mirror when it started to give me serious pain. Before that I had a very slight irritation which I thought was slight arc eye

It left a slight rusty mark, but after going to bed at 4.30am and then going back to the eye clinic for 10.30 am it had cleared up (I was given some drops and an attractive eye patch to wear for a few hours)

I've fot a tiny white mark on the surface of my iris now, buit apparently that will disappear soon :)

Yeah a mate of mine got some grind in his eye, he waited 5 hours in the BRI (Bristol Royal Infirmary) he said I'm off come back tomorrow.

The doc said it'll rust and you may loose sight in that eye, so he waited!

He wasn't wearing eye protection, silly boy:confused:
