I've just asked the seller as it only mentions insured postage inside Germany in the advert but most people are happy enough to send abroad. I'll wait to see what he replies.

Yeah he said that to me too. Postage costs for parcels in Germany is cheap so what he calls expensive will probably be fine

No probs, I've just sent the bloke another mail suggesting another firm (other than Deutsche Post) where the insurance (covers up to 500 Euro loss) is already in the price, cheaper than DP as well.
